About

I started drawing daily, at the beginning of the Pandemic. Being shut in and feeling helpless to do anything about it, this was my first drawing ( 4/19/20 ) “Raising the Flag”, an homage to the front line workers.

Raising the Flag Drawing

Process

  1. Find a photo I would like to draw.
Original Photo

2. Edit the photo making the colors bolder and brighter or more subtle and subdued. There are an infinite number of effects in between. In most cases, I make the photograph appear more like a painting.

Edited Photo

3. Draw a rendering of the altered photo.

Photo Rendering

4. Photograph the rendering and edit the photo, as in #2.

Edited Rendering of Photo

5. I then have the final photo printed on best quality Giclee, artist quality canvas.
